The Techter class specializes in protective support techniques.
Techter, also called Techer, is a class introduced in Phantasy Star Online 2. It is a subset of the Force class that focuses more on support while packing substantial melee strength.

Barring Gunblade, the Techer primarily wields two weapons.
- Wand: Short staff that has excellent melee power. Proficient at Techniques, but not as much as a Rod.
- Talis: Thrown card that can channel Techniques. Trades raw T-ATK for range.

- Techters originally appeared in Phantasy Star Universe, although it was originally translated Techer. Types with Technique aptitude were designated by adding the name "Techer" or shortening thereof. The playstyle of the Techter class in PSO2 resembles that of Universe's Acrotecher Type.
- In regards to the word's current etymology, Techter is possibly derived from "Technique", as in magical abilities in the Phantasy Star universe, and the word "Protector".
