Mother Trinity (Japanese: マザートリニティ) is the main antagonist in Phantasy Star Zero. Her operating base is the moon, a place that was formally known as Arca.
Although no one has seen her, she is worshiped by the newmans as a goddess since, according to Sarisa, her ruling is absolute.
Biography[]
Mother Trinity is an organic computer, constructed as part of a joint effort of three races 200 years ago before the story of Phantasy Star Zero. According to Ogi, she was built to assist mankind, but a day she turned against humankind without an apparent reason. The three races fought against her and forced her to retreat to the moon through the Celestial Pillar. Before her escape, Mother Trinity took a group of newmans with her to the moon and taught them that humans are lower beings.
Later in the game, it is revealed the she had in her possession a grim trinity of atrocious weapons of mass destruction. A bio extermination gas was used to destroy the environment on Coral and wipe out most organic lifeforms, which effectively killed most of the humans and newmans on the surface of the planet. Photon Noise disabled all electronics and mechanical devices, and consequently put the CASTs into stasis. Her most powerful weapon, the Photon Eraser, was used to destroy everything that remained on the ground, turning most of the planet into a polluted barren wasteland. 200 years later, Mother Trinity sent the newmans led by Reve to "investigate" the humans that survived the carnage on the planet, which became known as planet Earth.
