Laya (Japanese: ライア) is the younger sister of the legendary heroine named Laya and a playable character in Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom. Although she has a strikingly similar name, she is not the same Laya from the legendary war between cyborgs and monsters.

If Laya marries Nial, her children are Adan and Gwyn.

Appearance[]

Laya is a woman with long blonde hair, red earrings and a small red bindi on her forehead just like her older sister. She wears a red dress with with a single pauldron on her right shoulder.

Personality[]

Laya is shown to have very bright gold, a trait of which is commonly associated with the heart of gold archetype as she deeply cares for others in the world.

Biography[]

Underneath Aridia, Nial and company discover a world within a world, where they discover Laya awakening from cryogenic hibernation. This is the original Laya's younger sister, however, also named Laya. She recalls that the last time she saw her sister, she was leaving with a knight armed with a black sword. Laya joins the company to find out the truth of what became of Orakio and her sister. Her older sister left a secret message for younger Laya that revealed the war of olden times was actually a manipulation designed to bring as much suffering as possible to the people of the Alisa III.

Gameplay[]

Laya can use healing and order techniques. She can equip bows, staves, hunting helmet, crowns, robes, fibliras, emels, and boots.

She can use Heal (Res, Gires, Rever, Anti) and Order (Fanbi, Forsa, Nasak, Shu) Techniques

Trivia[]

  • According to the official Japanese guidebook, Laya is 148cm tall, or about 4′-10″.[1]
