Her True Face and Another Side (Japanese: カノジョの素顔と別の顔) is the twelfth episode of the second season of the PSO2COMI Anime series. It was published to Youtube on June 23, 2020.
Plot[]
Story 1: Distant Feelings[]
Mitarashi is sitting in the lobby thinking about what Dolce's face looks like under the visor. Although she wants to know, she understands that she may need to become closer friends with Dolce before she can ask something like that of her. On the other hand, if she asks now, she could immediately jump the friendship levels.
Later, Mitarashi finds Dolce and yells out to her in excitement that she wants to see her face. Dolce agrees to it which surprises Mitarashi how easily that turned out. Dolce changes her appearance to show her face and Mitarashi compliments her blue eyes, and asks if she would like to take some screenshots together. Dolce agrees and Mitarashi wonders aloud what she was thinking waiting so long for them to become closer when she could have asked a long time ago. This comment puzzles Dolce, who asks Mitarashi if they are already close. She then approaches Mitarashi and lovingly takes her hand. Dolce gently whispers in Mitarashi's ear about Christmas and how they spent the night together. Drowned in embarrassment, Mitarashi flails in place, yelling that what she is saying is true but the way she is saying it suggests something else...
Nearby, Ichika and Zect are spying on the two from around the corner of a portal. Ichika hears the last part of their conversation and asks if they really did spend the night together during Christmas. Zect assures him that it is true. Perplexed that Zect could know such details, Ichika stands in place pondering over the bizarre scenario, unaware that they all spent Christmas together... in hell.
Story 2: Girl, Committed[]
Tetra is hanging out with Nekonomiya when the former asks the latter if what she said before was true, that Nekonomiya is in fact a guy pretending to be a girl. Nekonomiya simply answers that it is with a smile. Tetra mumbles if it is wise for her to reveal something like that and Nekonomiya answers that she is the type of person to not hide these kinds of details from people. She explains that she enjoys role-playing in video games to her fullest potential and asks Tetra if she is the same. Tetra insists that she is really a female in the real world and she is also sure that it is now time to play a Limited Quest. Nekonomiya, seeing this as an opportunity to level up, asks her to wait a moment so she can change to her alternate character for the quest. Tetra agrees and waits patiently in the lobby.
A familiar, yet muffled, face approaches and thanks Tetra for waiting. Tetra turns around and begins to welcome back Nekonomiya but is bewildered at the sight of a giant marlin standing before her with the name of Sakananomiya. Tetra, struggling to find the words to speak, asks her what this character is role-playing as. Sakananomiya explains that this is a girl that was swallowed by a giant fish but she managed to regain control of the body. Tetra comically stares at her friend in silence and utter disbelief.
