Frames and Armour are defensive body wear in Phantasy Star Online that assist the player character by providing beneficial stat bonuses to defense, evasion, and elemental resistance when they are equipped. These items are essential for exploring the depths of Ragol as monsters slowly become stronger as the difficulty level increases.
Frames tend to fit all classes, while armour are usually tailored to Hunters and Rangers. Most of the items in this classification do not have a cosmetic appearance; they simply boost stats without affecting the player character's outward appearance. When these items drop from monsters, they will have a random number of slots between 0-4 which can have units slotted into them for additional stat boosts. In order to add more slots into armour, Add Slot will need to be used with the desired armour equipped at the time of use that is needing to be upgraded. Frames and armour cannot exceed a maximum of 4 slots.
