People of pso

The OPSS Incident was a massacre that occurred on Pioneer 2 for a roughly three month[1] period between AUW 3098 and AUW 3099.[2] As a result of the threat of overpopulation and strict population control laws, Han Walt attempted to solve Pioneer 2's issues by violently capturing hundreds[3] of androids, people with metallic bodies and a built in advanced artificial intelligence, blowing them up and disposing of their remains in outer space.[2][3]

Nef Miyama recruited his proteges, Wilm Break and Orland, onto the case. Sometime during the course of the investigation, Break became traumatized and secluded himself away from the general public, abandoning the mission. Orland continued helping the government with quests with the help of some friends.[4] Orland was able to successfully apprehend Han Walt in AUW 3099.[4][2] The OPSS Incident case was then officially closed.

The aftermath of the carnage irreversibly scarred many people living on Pioneer 2. The terror that androids had to live through, knowing that they were targeted because of their artificial bodies to make space for organics, pushed them to fight for their rights. In time, they were given basic human rights, and the term "android" was exchanged out for the politically correct "humanoid."[2]

I managed to stay inside a safe mansion while the OPSS incident was taking place, so I was able to escape unscathed... I was rather fortunate, but was terrified for three whole months. I couldn't even walk around inside the ship."
