Geung-si (Japanese: キョンシー) is a rare mag that appears exclusively in Phantasy Star Online. It was only obtainable starting with the Episode IV: Blue Burst expansion and thus not available in prior versions.

Geung-si is a special fourth evolution mag. In order to obtain it, a Tablet must be used as an item while a level 100+ Rukmin is currently equipped.

This mag can be equipped by all classes and races. While Geung-si is equipped, it may cast buffs upon satisfying certain conditions with a trigger activation rate of 50%. Upon its master either having their HP fall to 1/10 or entering a boss room, the mag may grant its wielder temporary invulnerability. When the Photon Blast gauge fills to 100%, Geung-si may heal its master's wounds. Finally, if the wielder falls in combat, the mag may attempt to revive them.

Appearance[]

Geung-si has the appearance of a traditional corpse from Chinese folklore. Covering its face is a talisman.

Trivia[]

  • Geung-si, or jiangshi, is a reanimated corpse creature from Chinese folklore. Since it has been dead for some time, it suffers from severe rigor mortis and thus is only able to move itself by jumping. This is why these creatures are known as "hopping vampires."
