"I'm the Great Damor, Soothsayer! Do you believe in my prophecies?"
— Damor upon meeting Alis and her party.

Damor (Japanese: ダモア, "Damor or Damoa") is a character in Phantasy Star. He is a fortune teller that lives near the top of the tower on Baya Malay. If his questions are answered to his satisfaction, he will give Alis Landale a crystal powerful enough to mitigate Lassic's magic.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Damor is an elderly gentleman that has gray hair, a long beard, and light blue eyes. He wears a brown robe and white undershirt with matching pants. Tied around his waist is a yellow cloth.

Personality[]

Damor has an arrogant, almost narcissistic confidence in his ability to peer into people's minds. Although he will more often than not dismiss those that blatantly lie to him or those that openly attempt to contradict his words, he will appreciate tactful responses if his readings were not entirely correct.

For example, Damor asks Alis Landale if she is searching for a man named Alex Ossale, which is a trick question. If she says no, Damor will end the conversation on the spot, but if she says yes, he will continue. Later, when he asks if everything that was stated was correct, he appreciates Alis' honesty when she tells him that he was wrong about her searching for someone named Alex but also tactfully chooses to not openly contradict him.

Biography[]

Damor is a soothsayer that resides in the Baya Malay Tower with the magic crystal in his possession. This crystal's power is strong enough to strike fear into the hearts of even powerful warlords such as Lassic because of its ability to mitigate magic attacks against its owners.

Damor poses a series of questions to passersby asking if they believe in his readings. One such person he meets is Alis Landale. She is able to tactfully navigate his series of questions, and in doing so, he rewards her by giving her the magic crystal.

Quotes[]

"Lassic lives in fear of the crystal possessed by the soothsayer named Damor. There is something special about it, without a doubt."
