Algol (Japanese: アルゴル Arugoru), also known as Algo, is the name of the star system located deep in the Andromeda galaxy, where the events of the first four games of the Phantasy Star series take place. It consists of three inhabited planets - Palma, a beautiful paradise, Motavia, a dry world covered mostly in deserts, and Dezoris, a frozen world covered in icy mountain ranges. As events unfold through the series, the planet Palma is destroyed, and a fourth, hidden planet Rykros is discovered.
